I am a first time mom to a 4 month old baby girl. We are taking her on her first vacation to the beach soon and don’t know what to do about the diapering situation. I have heard that swim diapers only hold solids and she is still exclusively breastfed so her poops are liquid still. Do I use a regular diaper even though it would get saturated, do I still just use the swim diaper, do I do a combo, something else, etc.? Thanks in advance😊

Swim nappies have real elastics. They will hold ALL poop EBF or not, pee will go right through, and the elastics will catch the poop plus we tend to check every 10-15mins anyway, and we’ll catch it in time where if they do poop we get them out and change them asap before they sit in it for too long. I’ve only ever used just the reusable swim diaper w his bathers on top if he poops the elastics will catch it I’ve never bought swim disposables. For the beach and leisure swimming all you need is reusable swim nappy and bathers on top. Not only do regular nappies don’t hold poop (aka blowouts) but it’ll absorb water and puff up in the water so don’t use those.

We took my 4 month old to the beach last month and agreeing with Kellie, we only used her reusable swim diaper and then her swimsuit on top. And for just in case blowouts or leaks in the car we did put one of her normal diapers OVER her swimsuit just in case. If your daughter is prone to more blowouts on a daily basis then I’d also take an extra reusable diaper :)

We have swim disposable diapers for if he is going to get a little wet but not submerged. To go in the water we use these under his suit, they seem to hold stuff in better than the reusable swim diapers we have: https://a.co/d/6BpwPjO

@kellie by bathers do you mean swimsuit? So reusable diapers and then their swimsuit?
