My LG is 2 and ive had a number of people mention that she seems behind developmentally, she can say single words but doesnt say 2 words together, she has done so she can and is capable i think she just either choses not to or perhaps another reason im not sure.
It started to be more apparent to me now when where at baby groups and when i pick her up at nursery when shes around a lot of kods her age that she doesnt say me and babbles more then anything. Shes not had her 2-2 1/2 yr check up yet, anyone elses LO doing the same? Is this something to be concerned about? Does she have a speech delay or is it still to early to tell?
Any suggestions on helping encourage with her speech.

My son is 2 on Monday here and he just babbles. He understands everything you say. He soaks it all in, but he just doesn’t try to say words. He can say go away the odd time and mama and dada but when he wants too say it. I don’t think it is anything to worry about. My health visitor when she saw my son for his 1 year review said that they usually see children starting to talk around 2 years and 4 months this is why they wait until this age to do the reviews. But I am in the exact same boat as you are. X

My sister's baby was born January 2023 and he only says a few words and mainly babbles. At his 2 year check they said it wasn't a concern yet as he was saying some words and had a good understanding when being spoken too

Flash cards, foam numbers too repetition and talking clear to her asking her questions etc just constantly repeat she will get there xx

Ours has only just started to add a second and occasionally third word
