Does anyone have any tips for descaling a steriliser? I have the tommee tippee steam steriliser, I try to descale every 2-3 days using a descaling liquid but I can’t seem to get rid of all of this (posted below) 🥲

I had the same issue and we decided to get a cold water steriliser as it kept happening

White vinegar. Put a small amount, let it soak then scrub it off. It should get rid of it completely though I’m not sure what you can do about the burn marks

I have the same sterilizer. I leave 200 ml of white vinegar overnight and rinse afterward.

Lemon juice works well

I think also depends on if your a hard water area. We have this issue and have to clean it every few weeks. We use white vinegar. Does the job

We use viakal then sterilise on empty before we do the bottles in there

We had this with the same steriliser and it's because the water where we live is hard. I just used to pour white vinegar in it, turn the steriliser on (empty) and it would be clean afterwards. I had to clean it after every use

Citric acid
Thank you all! Think I’m just gonna get a cold water steriliser x

This is the exact reason I got rid of ours. We lasted about 3 weeks with it before we ditched it and switched to Milton. We live in a very hard water area so just had to chalk it down to that

Hi it happens to mine every few weeks but I use a knife to scrape all the rust off then liquid..then it’s good as new x

I use Kilrock descaler

We've had that. It's life in a hard water area isn't it unfortunately...just used white vinegar like we do to descale the kettle.

Lemon juice, fill it up and turn on without any compartments on it. Only leave it on for around 30-40 seconds and then rinse. Then put normal about of water on for the normal amount of time c
