My daughter had the VCUG done today and the initial findings showed no reflux in the kidney that has hydronephrosis. Very difficult to watch that being done but good news. I suspect they’ll want to see if there’s a blockage next. Does anyone know what that test is like?

MAG 3 is next. We have had a horrible experience with nurses not being able to get a vein. We haven’t gotten it done after two failed attempts.

Oh no..so they have to do like an IV of some sort? That seems worse than the VCUG!!

yes! VCUG was the catheter. MAG 3 is a nuclear test through a vein.
