Has anyone had their baby at the GE? I'm curious if they still have the "mum plus one" in place on the ward so my partner could stay with me all night if needed.
We're planning to have a c-sectiom so any shared experiences of them at the GE would be appreciated 🩷

Hey, gave birth at GE May 2024 and my partner was allowed to stay for as long as we wanted in a side room on the ward. I asked for him to stay as I had a lot of blood loss and also a lot of anxiety around being on my own. It wasn’t very busy so I suspect that also plays into the decision.
He had to source his own food and drink though.
I will say that GE were incredible throughout my birth and stay.
@Sophie Thank you. Did you have a private room? I know it's a luxury not a right but I feel like this could be so useful, I have misophonia so the thought of hearing other people snoring/coughing/rustling food bags or eating loud/talking on the phone etc is really worrying me. I did wonder if they would be able to accommodate to this 🤔

Had a baby Sept 2024 via planned c section and my partner had to leave. I've heard they can stay if there are rooms available but obviously they go to more complex birthing situations. You get a good amount of time in a room in the actual maternity unit, before you go up to the ward. I think cut off point is 10pm but partners can come back at 8am x

Yes, we had a private room. It’s always worth asking! It does get very warm in there though

My cousin has recently had a c section there and was unable to have her parter stay overnight but could be there 8-8 x
