Eyelid eczema and epimax experience

Hello! Looking for some advice and to share my experience really.

My 5.5 month old has always had a red eyelid since birth, we thought at first a birth mark but as the months have gone by it's started to get quite dry and itchy so suspect eczema. She was scratching and making it bleed so GP prescribed epimax.

Started using that, within a few days she developed conjunctivitis and was utterly inconsolable one day and we had to go and get her some eye drops.
We had a pretty tough day with non stop crying, eye so swollen she could barely open her eyes so I did some more research and found out that epimax should have never been prescribed for her eye in the first place due to potential to impact the eye if it gets into contact!
Obviously we were careful with applying but it's very hard to stop a baby itching their own eye and likely getting some of the cream in it...causing the infection 😥

Stopped using that straight away and got some different antibiotic cream prescribed by out of hours GP. Fast track a few weeks later and although much better, it's still bothering her.

I'm at a bit of a loss on how to manage her eyelid long term and would appreciate any help or advice from anyone with a similar experience who could point me in the right direction.🙏 Thankyou X
