My 15-month-old son has been walking well and normally for the past 2.5 months. However, over the past few days, I've noticed him occasionally doing this strange squat walk. I'm really worried and can’t stop thinking about what could be wrong. We have an appointment with the GP next Friday, but in the meantime, it’s driving me crazy. Has anyone else experienced this with their little ones? Is this normal?

That's what I was thinking, doesn't seem like he is in any pain as well! I am hoping it goes back to normal soon 🤞 happy that your little one is sorted now xx

Looks to me like he was just trying to step over his toys 🤔

he has been walking like that in many different places.

my little girl went through a stage of doing this a lot i just put it down to her trying a new way of walking😂

He hasn't filled his nappy, has he? They sometimes walk like that when they have done a number 2.

I think its quite normal. They're still learning how to move and what they can do. My son did this and he is absolutely fine

It’s more than likely from the way his diaper is sitting! My son used to have the same walk when his diaper would rub against his legs weird

It may be that he's just smart and is more aware of his footing. Did he step on something recently that hurt his foot?

My son does that sometimes too at 18 months! He’s been doing it randomly for the past few months, but I’ve not noticed anything worrying about it. He started it around the same time he figured out how to walk backwards.

Looks harmless like she's just exploring. You'll notice so many odd things that are simply explorations along normal development.

I promise you there’s nothing to worry about. My little boy did this and other things too. They’re exploring their different ways and options of movement. But it’s great that you’re going to see a GP for reassurance.

Mine does this when he’s trying to walk and poop at the same time. Sometimes it helps him get big ones out from what I’ve seen lol

My daughter started doing a funny walk around that age it turned out she was copying how her grandpa walks. He kind of shuffles when he walks and she wanted to walk like grandpa. Something to consider lol 😂

My 14 month old walks like a dinosaur loool so you have nothing to worry about trust me

My little one seemed to do this briefly, I think he was just learning he could bend his knees when walking!

Looks like normal baby behaviour to me but if concerned speak to your gp or health visitor x

@Rachel no, I made sure his nappy is clean and also changed to one size bigger to see whether it eliminates the problem or not, but it did not help

no nothing that I am aware of to be honest

@Lily 🤣🤣 that's super cute!!!
