I didn’t know it was so hard going overdue
My first baby came on time and I didn’t even have the chance to worry about going overdue. Contractions started at 39+6.
This time I was told it would most likely be the same/similar… well I’m now 41+3.
I never knew it was so hard to go past your due date. Mentally and physically.
I go to bed upset and I wake up upset. My body feels like it’s completely had enough. My emotions are all over the place and I ache SO badly everywhere.
Happy for those who have had their babies but also jealous😫❤️
I’m starting to worry about labour because this baby was always measuring big so I’m scared something will go wrong now. Was hoping for a home birth but that’s looking less and less likely each day.
Going to have a sweep on Tuesday and ask to be booked for an induction.
Anyone been induced with Dilapan (non-hormonal)?

I haven’t had that induction method but just wanted to say you’re not alone & I’m feeling a similar way! My 1st baby I had to be induced at 42 weeks, I’d literally had zero labour signs but tbh I coped okay waiting because I could rest & do my own thing. Today’s my due date with baby #2 and I’m really struggling. For some reason I told myself there’s no way I’d go overdue again, but here we are heading in the same direction😂 finding it really hard to entertain my toddler because I’m not coping with this heatwave at all on top of being pregnant! I’ve got a sweep booked in for Monday then induction at 41 weeks this time because I’m so fed up😢 but everyday that passes my dream water birth gets less & less likely as my hospital won’t let you use the pool after needing induction😭 ugh
I'm not overdue but I'm scared I'm headed that way. I'm 38 weeks and the pain is real. I have to mentally prepare myself to get up and go to the toilet during the night coz my whole body hurts. My feet are swollen. And she is on the bigger side.
I know how you feel. I had my first at 38 weeks. Everyone said this baby would be early too. I’m 40+6 and due to be induced tomorrow. I’ve tried everything to get this baby to come but I’m exhausted and this heat is just awful. Trying to clean the house in preparation today but everytime I do a little job I have to sit down for 20 minutes before I can do another job 🤦♀️😭
I’ve had zero labour signs as well😭 this heatwave is definitely not helping is it!! I think it makes it much worse when you have your ideal labour in your head too. Wishing you the best! xx

Do you know what kind of induction you’re having? I haven’t done much research so don’t know too much.
It’s so tiring isn’t it! I feel so lazy but need to remind myself that I need to rest! I hope your induction goes well tomorrow xx
I have no idea and probably should’ve asked when they told me it was booked but I was just so upset I didn’t think about it. I’m hoping they’ll just break my waters, really don’t want anything hormonal
Yes I had these put in today the rods - I tried the hormone pessary yesterday as I am 42 weeks tomorrow, an it had to come out after 4 hours as I was constantly contracting.
Rods went in today as cervix not playing ball, speculum wasn’t pleasant but rods are fine and can’t feel them once they are in. Wish I had gone that route first.

In 2022 I had the Dilapan rods for induction at 41 weeks, they did the job of opening/ softening my cervix to 2cm in 12 hours without discomfort! .. But then through the routine monitoring baby’s heart rate wouldn’t settle so was advised to have a C-section x
I’m due in to have induction dilapan on Saturday I’m a little nervous but heard from midwife it’s nicer than pesarries. She said after 12 hours minimum at 2cm you can get your water broken which should put you through menstrual contractions. However if you aren’t contracting yourself they may put you on the drip x
