How am i supposed to bring the temp down? Its hotter in my room than it is outside i have 3 fans on and the curtains and windows are all closed to stop the hot air coming in
What else am i supposed to do? Im terrified to have my baby in this because i don’t want her to overheat i live in a flat on 3rd floor so the heat is unbearable

If it's hotter inside, open the windows and get some cooler air in.

would be the most logical thing to do but it brings the warm air from outside, inside

We have opened the windows this evening. The air is cooler now.

If you can afford it, then air con has been a life saver for me. I also live in a 3rd floor flat and it’s all glass and south facing 🥵 I bought an air con machine (the one where the tube goes out the window) and it brings my 30 degree room down to 22-23 degrees within an hour.
Not the cheapest, but definitely an investment

Our house is the exact same, A new build and south facing so just soaks in all the heat. We have invested in an aircon unit which we have kept in the living room, It definitely does the job of cooling the air in the room compared to fans that just blow the hot air around. If we have another period of hot weather when baby arrives one of us will be sleeping in the living room with her where it will be cooler. I’m praying that won’t be needed 🥵

I second opening windows and balcony doors during the night time. Close them during the day. Buy a fan and/or air con unit if you can afford it. Use wet washers - put them on your forehead and hands and legs. You can also use freezer packs (frozen pucks or frozen gel packs) instead or as well as wet washers. Drink plenty of fluids. Make little cubes of ice in your freezer and suck on them throughout the day

Remember the warm weather will pass. It will get cooler again. Remind yourself that you will get through this!

Another thing you can do is if you live close to a large shopping centre with good air con, go and hang out there during the hottest part of the day. Libraries are also usually well air-conditioned. If you have a local indoor swimming pool, you can also try going there and having a swim. It might be very crowded, though, with lots of people heading there to beat the heat

When you have your baby, if it is still very hot inside, just dress her in a nappy and nothing else. Maybe wrap her in a light muslin if you are lying her down to sleep. Watch her for signs she is getting too hot eg. Red and/or sweaty face. You can drape a wet sheet near her cot/bassinet, and put a fan so it blows onto the sheet, to help cool her down

You may already know this but putting your fan in front of an open window facing into the room will draw the cold air in, rather than just pushing hot air round the room if it were positioned away from the window. I hope this helps and makes sense

It was 38 when my first was born, I slept with him both naked with a muslin over him to regulate his temp and breastfed loads and loads to keep his hydration up , he lived just in a nappy for weeks so planning to do the same this time x

You can buy portable air conditioning units, cheaper than fancy fans you can get.
We have 3 dotted around and they have been amazing in this weather.

hey, please could you link which ones you have? X
