Thinking to get a potty for baby girl, she's 14m old. She has a pretty regular routine/bowel movement, so we know when she needs to poop. Thinking to introduce a potty but wondering if it's maybe too early and should I wait it out?

I don't think so. We started last Monday or Tuesday, just offering the potty after meals and he's been doing a wee and/or a poo most times. He's already started asking for it too and yesterday he did all his poos in the potty! Pretty good given we never really know when he's going to go and we were out on and off all day

@Hazel that's amazing 👏 well done to him and you ! Are you using training pants ?

Thanks. We've just got pull up nappies and where it's been so hot then he's usually just in the nappy, so it's been nice and quick to get them off

@Helen that's true might just wait it out till she starts nursery

No you could have started 14 months ago if you wanted. Go for it!

My eldest was only in childcare 2 days a week and not for long (Covid) but she was basically toilet trained by 16/17 months. She started preschool 3 days a week at 22months without nappies and was mostly fine, but tricky because she didn’t speak and they kept leaving her with staff that weren’t looking for her signing rather that speaking

Been using a potty since 7 months. BG does wees and poos in the morning and after naps. Get them used to it. I even got her to poo on the toilet the other day!
