I’m looking at getting the rapid cool set (flask and rapid cool) - I’ve never used one before so have no idea how it works. But do you need to sterilise it after every use? Because thinking of using it for the night time feeds but can’t be faffing with sterilising that after every feed🤣 and I don’t want to do the hot shot method either.

I personally wouldn't bother with the nuby flask as it doesn't keep the water hot for more than 2 hours 😞 if you use the hot shot method with the rapid cool you don't need to sterilise as only hot water goes in, but if you make up the whole feed in the rapid cool then yes it would need to be sterilised each time

You would need to clean and sterilise it after each use if you put any formula in there! The only way you wouldn’t need to sterilise is if you used the hot shot method. X

We use our Nuby just for hot shot, I’m pretty sure they sell a specific steriliser for it though if you were looking to out formula directly in as designed. For night (and day) feeds we prep bottles 3 at a time and keep in the fridge, as long as they’re used in 24 hours it’s fine x

Yes you have to clean & sterilise after every use - just the actual rapid cool if you’ve put the formula in. Not the flask if you’ve just used hot water. You also have to wait 3 hours between each use of the rapid cool.
I only ever did one night feed so sterilising again was never an issue. If you’re against using the hot shot method then you’re really limiting yourself for multiple night feeds as I would imagine it’s quicker than doing pitcher method & warming bottles.

Just get the white flask as the nuby doesn’t keep as hot as a normal thermos flask. So I have thermos and the cooler. Yes it’s recommended to sterilise after every use. I combined so generally only have to use it once in the night as other times I have pumped breast milk. If you are against hot shot method and don’t want to sterilise then I don’t think it’s for you.
Good old running under a cold tap and in a cup of ice cold water will cool it down x

Or have bottles prepped in a mini fridge in your room and take out an hour in advance or warm in hot water x

I absolutely loved mine! I never made the milk in the cooler, I always use the hot shot method and just cooled the water down and then sterilised at the end of the day.
At night time I always had cooled boiled water in the fridge and then just boiled a bit of water and mixed the 2 to make a bottle at the right temp, also found this made like a lot easier x

Clean and sterilise after every use but the flask is useless. We dunked our cooler in a Milton solution (after washing with dish soap). You also have to remove the seal in the cap when you wash it because milk gets trapped underneath.
