I am thinking about becoming a foster career.
I already have a 7 month old off my own.
Just wondering what is the process and if I would qualify.

every state is a little bit different, but my partner and i are at the tail end of this journey! we had to do 30 hours of training split up into 3 hour sessions once a week for 10 weeks. we had MOUNDS of paperwork, a home study, and an hour and a half long interview that dove deep into our personal lives. we just finished our fingerprints over the weekend. as long as you have an extra room (or don’t mind if your little one shares with the other children, the foster kids would just have to be young or the same sex as your baby) it doesn’t matter if you rent or own (we rent), doesn’t typically matter how much money you make, as long as you can pass a background check, your home is considered safe, and you’re deemed as mentally and physically capable of caring for foster children, you should be able to!
