I had my elective c section on the 18th Feb :)
The whole team involved were absolutely lovely. I was really apprehensive as I had gestational diabetes, preeclampsia and a nearly 10lb baby! But they really put me at ease and it was a much better experience than I expected.
They let me have my own music playing, they took photos for me, my mum was allowed to trim the cord. I’m so grateful to everyone who was in the room that day
Best of luck and congratulations!!

Yes I had an elective c-section there in May 2024, it was the best! I am SO glad I chose an elective c-section as the atmosphere was calm and controlled. (I’m abit of a control freak so this was perfect for me!) I walked myself into theatre holding my husbands hand, was spoken through each step, had my own Spotify music playlist playing so Whitney Houston was playing as my son entered the world and I had a lovely midwife take my husbands phone throughout and took some amazing photos and videos which we will cherish forever as special memories.
Best of luck lovely, enjoy the whole process xxx

Mine wasn’t elective (class C emergency I believe) but the entire team was absolutely incredible, they took amazing care of me and my baby, they made us laugh and let me pick the music. The anaesthetist (I believe he was Dutch) was wonderful and kept me calm through probably the scariest thing of my life.

I had one at Frimley yesterday! As I didn’t want an induction and baby was estimated to be big (and he was). Totally agree with the other comments the whole team is so good, everyone is so kind and helpful. They explain all the steps and keep you chatting, I chose to have the screen lowered as well when they pulled baby out which was so lovely and emotional to see 🥰 they check baby over, my partner cut the cord then they bring the baby to you for skin to skin if you choose to. I loved this as I got to hold him the whole time they were stitching me up, which was the longer bit. It’s been a bit sore after but there was no pain at all during the procedure. Good luck for next week 😊
Amazing stories thanks for sharing everyone this has definitely made me feel more at ease! Really appreciate the time out taken to comment thanks so much!! ❤️❤️ I hope you are all doing well with your new precious babies 🥰
