Weetabix portion

How much Weetabix are you giving your baby in the morning? I’ve been doing 1 whole one with milk.

I’m struggling to get him to breastfeed during the day at the moment (he just refuses and can go hours and hours without being bothered) and confused at how much food I should be giving him as I keep seeing that breast milk/formula should be their main source of calories in the first year. He’s nursing overnight instead!

He’s just on breakfast and evening meal at the moment. How many breastfeeds are your babies having in between?

I started with a whole one with formula milk but he never finished it so started doing half a weetabix with formula and he finishes it and then finishes the bottle of formula afterwards. So it’s a win win for getting the milk in and having breakfast’

Half of one, she doesn't have the attention span for a whole one at the moment! But I'm mixing fruit into it as well.

I started with half and then a full and now on 1 and half. But she is a pig when it comes to food 🤣 she loves it too much

Sometimes my son I offer two and he will eat almost all of it 🙈 he’s a high centile baby though and doesn’t stop eating so that’s nothing to go by. Babies drop feeds in their own time so maybe your little one isn’t hungry for it? My baby has about 3 bottles a day, sometimes 4 when teething. Go with the flow, your baby will show you what they want x

Half, but he never finishes that! The only thing he gobbles up is toast and yoghurt

Mine has half of one at the minute

Mine has one and a half weetabix with formula or milk plus some fruit in it!! He is also a food monster! I have made two sometimes and he eats most of it
He is also reducing the amount of milk he is taking. Drinks the most in morning and before bed and takes two smaller bottles during the day and I hide the rest in his food

Can you pump and use that milk instead x

My little girl has one with either whole milk or yoghurt and then fruit mixed into it and finishes it every time. Once or twice if I’ve added too much milk, I’ve added an extra half a weetabix and she’s finished that too 🙊 xx

Half! But usually with something else. I'm also conscious she's eating a fair bit as she's not as keen for every breastfeed either. This week she's been in a bit of a pattern of:
7am wake and breastfeed
8am breakfast
10am breastfeed before nap
12ish lunch
1.30ish breastfeed
5ish breastfeed
6pm tea
7.30pm breastfeed.
I think she could go without one of those feeds in the day but i am still offering, she defo has much longer milk feeds in the evening instead.

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.

Did I overreact?

I have had 3 c sections, recently had a wisdom teeth removal (4) to be exact and all my mom did was visit the day BEFORE and then she only sent 1 text. She has NEVER spent one full day with me and doesn’t acknowledge my achievements much. She just isn’t there when I need her to be. She claims she’s always working but she lives like 7 minutes away! she can come help with the kids so my husband can have break? we don’t ask her for much and she only sees the kids 1-2 a month. She also didn’t visit with my last c section. I told her that she should’ve gotten the abortion when she had the chance with me because why would you have me and neglect me emotionally? To not actually give me a present father in my life. I am very angry all she does is disappoint me. She only wants to show up for certain people in the family and I just want to grab her and shake her and ask her why can’t she be a good present mother?
