My baby will be born around the Sept 9th and I know although newborns can’t go in the sun I’d like a fun way to be able to cool him down and really wanted to get a paddling pool with barely any water in there to cool him down. Is this okay and if so how long can he stay in there for?

I would imagine as long as the water is warm it’ll be fine. They can go swimming from birth so don’t see how it is different (37 degrees for water temp).
I would probably use an umbrella to keep the sun off him. And more use it for fun than to cool him off.
Just my thoughts though as FTM to a 4 week old.

aw okay brilliant, it will be great fun but everyone keeps saying this to me like “you do realise they’re barely functional at that age right” like I’m still allowed to have fun with my baby whether they can remember it or not 😁

people love to put a downer on things! Mines been to baby classes and pretty much cried or slept for the whole thing but I’m still going to more. Like it can still be a bonding thing!

exactly, I don’t care what anyone says. It’s the best thing in the world! Just do what the f* you want, you know xx

Definitely can, my daughter has been in paddling pools, baths and swimming since very beginning Feel like earlier you introduce them to water the more they enjoy it x she's 5 months now and a total water baby she absolutely loves it xx

As soon as the cord has fallen off they can be submerged in water. Just make sure to keep the water warm and keep the pool in the shade :)

Just wait until belly button has dropped and then crack on! No different from a bath or baby swimming 💜

They are in water while they are inside us & some people have water births so I'm sure a paddling pool will be fine, as long as it is the right temperature. Hopefully, we'll have some decent weather for a few weeks after your baby is born & you can still have some use out of it 🤞🏻 x

Haha I love the sea. Having a baby in January it's gonna be hard to wait to dip those tiny toes in the water and show her my world 🤣🥰
These moments are great for bonding. They struggle to regulate their temperature but will fuss before it becomes dangerous or anything and you're the mum so you'll know what's best anywaysb

As the others have mentioned, keep it warm like bath water. Maximum 30 mins but probably less. Be prepared that baby may need an extra layer for 5/10 mins after being in the water and possibly a feed as they cannot regulate their own temperature

You could always put the paddling pool in the living room depending on how big it is, all I did was put towels around the it.. I did this with my eldest when it was 40+ degrees heat two years ago
