Antibiotics side effects
Hey girls,
My 2 week old boy has been out on antibiotics (Trimethoprim) a very small does to avoid infections. They really upset his stomach to the point he’s squirming in pain all through the night.
Has anyone else dealt with this? Is there an alternative?

It took my daughter about 3-4 weeks to get used to her antibiotics, the doctor warned us she might have some discomfort at first. Maybe check in with your doc to see what they say? There are other antibiotics you can try but he’ll likely need to stay on a small dose of something, there isn’t really anyway to avoid that until he’s older.
If you’re not breastfeeding, you might also want to try adding a probiotic to his formula, it might help! Breastmilk already has them already
