My LO’s abnormal blood work

Hi! So my son hasn’t been gaining weight for the past 2 months despite him eating table foods, breastfeeding as well as taking some formula allllll the time. So his dr wanted to check his blood work to make sure he’s okay. They weren’t able to get all the tests done but the ones that were performed were ran & mostly everything was normal except for his ANC white blood cell count. The normal range is 1,500 but his is 300 which is severely low… she asked if he was sick or if he was running a fever & i told her no he’s fine & acting his normal happy self. She said great and that if he does come down with anything and or a fever that i needed to take him to the hospital right away. She didn’t really explain why his count was low and what the possible reasons were other than genetics. We still have to go get more blood work done but of course with my anxiety i looked it up on google and saw the big “C” word and now my mind is running rapid.

So i wanted to know if any other mamas know about this? Im really stressing out about this

My daughter has leukemia. Her WBC was extremely high, and her hemoglobin and platelets were extremely low. I can't remember what her ANC was. We were sent to children's ER straight from her peds office. She showed no signs of sickness. I took her in for a rash she had on her thighs, which was petechiae. Is he bruising more easily? I only noticed that the day of her peds appointment. Cancer never ever crossed my mind. We were blindsided. I truly hope this is not the case for your son, but unfortunately not gaining weight, and his blood work, it could be very likely. Feel free to reach out and I'll be happy to answer anything! I am thinking of yall heavily. I don't wish this on anyone!! 🧡

thank you so much!! he did gain 5 ounces since his weight check on the 4th which is good! He does have a bruise on my shin but we thought that was from him crawling around.. but yeah all his other results were normal except for his ANC, no anemia, kidneys & electrolytes are fine, RBC is fine, inflammation markers are fine. They’re going to check for his celiac and his thyroid to see how those are.

The big C has different markers including inflammation. If that one is low, likely C is not the case, but something else.

Let the Dr finish the tests and try not to think about this. If he seems happy, enjoy your baby.

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

My little one is struggling with sleep

Hey! I'm in need of some advice please girls! My little boy is 20 months turns 21 months in 2 half weeks. He use to sleep through the night now he is waking up every single night in the early morning, I've had to transition him to a toodler bed as he kept climbing out his cot. Just need some advice on what I can do to help him get back in to a sleep pattern?

My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.

6 month old autistism

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Baby with chronic congestion

Hi everyone! My 1 year has been a congested baby since birth almost. She breathes through her mouth so often that it wakes her up multiple times at night and she cries and screams and then struggles to go back to sleep. She wakes up every 1-3 hours and sometimes can’t go back to sleep for 2-3 hours!!! Piriton is the only thing that seems to help her sleep mostly through the night but I can’t keep giving her that!!
Does anyone have tips as to have I can do or give her? Has anyone experienced? I have no idea when I’ll get an ENT appointment and I have no idea what he can give a 13 mo :( we are desperate for sleep so any tips are welcome!! We have tried steam inhalation, saline drops, vapour rubs and everything off the counter basically!
