She’s 7 months old and has just started doing this the last 2 days or so. At first I thought she did it when looking at something too close to her face but now she just does it randomly and it’s freaking me out 😭

Call your GP to be on the safe side and show them this video x

It could be a sensory thing shes figured out how to do but its best to check x

I agree with calling your pediatrician…. I don’t think that looks normal. Then again baby’s do a lot of weird stuff.

She might be in need of an eye test / glasses to help her developing eye muscles. GP to be safe but I think optician would be a good shout too !

optician won’t see babies at this age I had to go to my gp and a orthoptic nurse saw her there. But i definitely agree.
Although babies do weird stuff id definitely get checked to be sure.

That’s great to know Rheo, thank you! X

I would show your doctor? It could be absence seizures. Can be common in kids and not as scary as it sounds. Most kids grow out of them but I’ve had them since i was a baby and never turned into real seizures

Thank you all, I’ll contact the GP on Tuesday when they reopen, although we have a paediatrician appointment on 1st September so not sure if I should just wait for that or not?

very good point, thank you. Will contact them Tuesday x

My daughter started rolling her eyes upwards from around 7 months, she still does it now at 2 and a half, although I'd recommend taking her doctors to start with you can take her to the opticians I took my daughter at 7 months when she first started doing it, they don't do a full eye test of course but they do check for you x

ah I see, when I phoned for my daughter’s lazy eye I was told opticians can’t see her until she’s 2. Might depend on area but was seen by child orthoptic nurse anyway xx

Keep videoing them when they happen to check if the episodes get longer. One of my kids has querie absence seizures and the videos help with diagnosis.
Not that I think it is that, just something to tick off the list. ☺️

This looks like absent seizures

I second seizures, should go to an neurologist asap

yeah possibly. Our girl did well with the testing for her lazy eye. They didn’t seem to see an issue with her eye but i definitely can see it so will probably bring up with health visitor in her 9-12 month check x
