Nervous for induction!!!!

I was induced 5 days ago and it was really nice on one hand because I knew the date I was able to have a proper shower and prep, do some glam in the morning and fully prepare for the arrival of the baby 😅 my experience would have been a lot better if I would’ve gotten an epidural sooner. This kind of depends on the kind of induction you are getting, I got the oxytocin drip and went from 1cm to 10 in 12 hours, so things escalated quickly and at 5cm I was begging for an epidural but once it kicked in I felt nothing all the way until 10cm. So if you can get an epidural early, maybe even before the induction starts, you will have the best likely most calm experience ever

I was due to be induced and then when I was Checked I was already 2cm dilated so didn’t need the induction but I had no idea. Then I just waited for my waters to be broken. I was called in at 2am put on the oxytocin drip and he was here by 1:30pm. The oxytocin really sped it up but I was not complaining as some people are in labour for days! I have been induced with both my babies

My first was with the pessary, contractions started around 6 hours after that was inserted and my girl was born a further 6 hours later, I had just gas and air with her which personally I felt like did absolutely nothing for me at all, it didn’t help with my pain whatsoever.

This time around I was already 2cm so they went straight to breaking my waters and gave me the hormone drip to start contractions. I had the epidural before they broke my waters this time and I absolutely could not recommend it enough. My son was born 5 hours after my waters were broken.

Good luck!! You have got this, just remember that you can ask for all the pain relief you need, with my first I left it too late cause I was in so much pain I just forgot about it 🤣

Hi my love, I was induced 2 weeks ago and although it was a rocky start and I had to have the pessary twice (within the space of a few hours), when I was given the second one, baby was born within 5 hours. It was a very positive experience for me and I'm so so glad I chose to get induced at 41 weeks. I was also terrified but honestly it happened so quick and I also didn't even get a chance to take any gas and air/epidural, maybe 2 puffs of gas and air😂 I wish you all the best xx
