I mean you can’t stop them from doing anything, my ex loves motorcycles and has gotten in life threatening accidents while we were together I hated them tbh. But if my child were to say he wanted to ride, I would support it not encourage it. I don’t want to bash or tear down their interests but support in a way that makes them aware of the risks like you could get hurt, it’s dangerous but not gunna say don’t do that

right, that’s how I feel. In my head I would initially be like “ah one wrong kick and your brain dead or worse you get your head stomped in. But it’s also kinda badass and a cool sport. Very risky but if that’s his calling I’m there.

I’d support them until an injury occurred that was damaging enough to warrant a different conversation with more of a focus on their health than the sport itself. From there I’d try to redirect them to being involved but in a different role.
