Not walking or standing independently

Same here he can cruise around and he’ll push a cart and walk even with one hand, but he won’t let go and we try a lot of things. He does not get in standing position on his own unless he has something to hold onto.

Not sure if this will make you feel any better, but our little one was the same until last weekend, and then he just seemed to wake up and start doing it. It’s like it just clicked. He hadn’t wanted to do it when we had tried to encourage him or let go of him, so we just left it. He couldn’t walk or stand by himself without holding onto something on the Friday and then could on the Saturday 😂

My daughter didn’t for a while until I put two objects in her hands and she started waking straight away

Me too! Mine was cruising for what felt like forever and then a week or so ago it just clicked and she is now walking all the time and barely crawls at all. It will happen 😊. It’s annoying when people ask all the time because they will do it when they’re ready. I was genuinely feeling how you are and then she just got it suddenly xx

My lb is the same and i always get those questions from family and friends and somerimes it does feel like theres presure for him to be walking and just try my best to give mi sen a shake and tell mtself he will walk when hes ready not when everybody else is ....my mother in law mentions it everytime and i see her multiple times a week ...like just leave him to do his own thing in his own time 🙈

Honestly, one day it will ‘click’ for your LO! This time last week my son had just pushed a walker for the first time… then we tried putting a toy in each have to distract him (he could stand)… a few days later he walked to me at nursery!!

My daughter is cruising and has taken steps but still isnt walking on her own. I'm going to try and put the toys in her hands and see if this helps her. I had never heard of this before.

Please enjoy this time because once they start there’s no sitting down 😂 my LG has been walking since 12 months and honestly I miss when she wasn’t. I have plenty of mum friends whose little ones haven’t started walking yet and it’s absolutely normal. All babies will walk eventually unless they have some sort of medical problem (which would likely been diagnosed already), so don’t worry, continue encouraging and it will happen very soon. Ignore family, just say he will walk when he’s ready! X

oh same here my daughter hasnt stood independently nor walked. However, shes cruising and just pushing carts, even worse doing “trust falls” 😂 I got so upset just being behind with milestones. But then a friend of mine told me, cherish these moments because once shes up and running, you wont be able to sit down 😂 So Im just doing just that, enjoying the moment and waiting 🥲

How old is your little one? Sorry if you’ve said already and I missed it. We have a little boy who will be 17 Months on the first (he was born 7. Weeks early so 15 months corrected age) he crawls, cruises furniture, climbs up the stairs and goes about on his tractor or skittle bug but he will not let go. He walks with 1 of our fingers in each hand. If we let go one hand he sits down. If we let go both hands he stands for 10-15 seconds sits down and refuses to stand up. If we try to stand him up he holds both feet out infront of him and refuses to put them on the ground 🤦🏼‍♀️ it’s definitely a confidence thing but getting a little frustrating because he’s so strong on his legs but just won’t let go xx
