Mice issue

Hi everyone! Has anyone ever had a mice issue here in NM? We went out of town for 5 days in July and when we got back we found mice droppings everywhere. Since then we’ve caught 10 mice on the traps given to us by an exterminator and we’re hoping we ended the problem. We also got a cat this past weekend in hopes of preventing future invasion. We live in the country and my boyfriend thinks it’s because we weren’t home so they came in looking for food. We aren’t dirty and I’m afraid of germs so my house is always clean. I’ve just been paranoid about my little one getting sick because he’s all over the floor and puts everything in his mouth. We’ve cleaned and sanitized everything and everywhere and I’ve talked to his pediatrician but I’m still anxious about it. Has anyone had a similar experience? I just need to hear other stories to help ease my anxiety. 😔
