I hate being a step mom
Is it bad to hate being a step parent š. I love my husband and ss but if I had a choice to do it again I would never have dated him. My ss doesnāt listen, is always talking back and is very manipulative. Heās said his dad abused him and then laughed when we asked why he lies about that. He tells his dad heās going to make him love his mom. I understand itās normal for him to feel that way and I get it but itās become an ongoing issue. I feel bad for feeling this way š„²

I get it girl. My ss is so disrespectful to me most of the time and it sucks
That is so frustrating, but your feelings are totally valid!! When we become stepmoms, usually, we have no idea what it's going to be like, so most times, we choose the husband mostly, rather than the husband and kid(s)/other people involved, even though we're aware it's a package deal.
Just wondering, is bio mom manipulative and such? Environment can have a big effect on kids.

How old is he? Maybe he just needs to see how cool you are and that you're not trying to be his mum. I reckon you should take him out to do something fun together and make some memories for just you two! It's step family day coming up so, perfect excuse! X
Set clear boundaries! "it is not okay to talk to me like that" ect. believe me, you will be the asshole for a while but eventually they will appreciate it. Speaking from experience
