Maternity clothes recommendations

Hey ladies, I'm quite new to Aus and I'm looking for maternity clothing brands that people rate? Thank you! 🙂

Maternity brands kinda suck. Haha I’ve been looking at Sabo Skirt they have a bump friendly edit and it’s a bit cuter than some of the maternity specific brands haha. I think H&M also have a maternity edit and so does Boohoo. Petal and pup etc a few online clothing brands.

Otherwise there is Ripe, Apero the label, angel maternity, Bae the label, and Legoe heritage.

So far I’m preferring the bump friendly edits from brands that are not maternity specific.

I don't think I have any brands to add to Abbey's list, except maybe some basics from Target/Kmart/Big W. And there's quite a few brands that do maternity tights/shorts - Emamaco, Active truth (though getting rid of maternity so what the have left is on sale!), lorna Jane, crz yoga (on Amazon), bonds.

So far at 17.5 weeks I've been getting away with my normal elasticated waist pants, and stretch tops. At some point I'll transition to my maternity tights/jeans (from my first) with loose shirts/sweaters/tees (have a few maternity ones, but regular ones will probably do...can always have these above the bump when the bump is big enough to look cute 😛). Then I reckon many of my normal summer dresses will be bump friendly so I can't wait for warm weather! (I had an Aug baby last time)

Oh and I'll add - if this is your first, don't get too caught up with buying maternity clothes that aren't feeding friendly... Pregnancy lasts for such a short time that you are better off getting mostly things you can also use post partum (presuming you want to /will be able to breastfeed)

Thank you so much for your replies ladies 🩷 That's really helpful. This is my 2nd and the bump has definitely appeared much sooner!

Bae the label and Legoe Heritage are good 😊

I recently bought a couple of feeding tops from Apero and was pretty happy with the quality. For pregnancy I mostly wear flowy dresses that aren’t maternity brand

Thank you for your recommendations ladies! I've just bought a few bits from Ripe, which I'm loving! And some leggings from crz yoga, which are so comfy.

oh my goodness I cannot agree to this enough.

This is the advice I wish I was given the first time around.

I had my first in September 2024 and found that so much of my maternity stuff is not breastfeeding friendly! It was hard over summer but I was adamant about not spending more money and made do with what I had. I had to recently buy some more stuff as I’m currently still breastfeeding my daughter and am officially too big now for a lot of what I was getting away with before. I’m looking forward to some of the breastfeeding friendly dresses for summer because I really feel like I missed out last summer with only boring breastfeeding friendly tops.
