Okay so my son has always been an early riser (was 5am for a long time) but up until recently he’s slept till 6.30, in the week I’m awake at this time as I’ve got to get him ready for school and sort his little brother so he takes himself downstairs and puts the TV on to watch whilst I’m sorting his brother upstairs. But since starting school I’ve caught him twice downstairs at 4am watching TV and he’s been down there for an hour (I’ve got a camera)
I don’t know what to do I’ve put a gro clock in his bedroom that goes yellow at 6.30 which worked for the first week but I have found he’s waking up earlier to watch it turn yellow, but I’ve just caught him downstairs again asked him why he didn’t stay in bed and he said it was taking to long to turn yellow 🤦🏼♀️
I’m not sure what else to do now really hope this is just a phase because he’s going to be so tired at school tomorrow.

You could try removing the remote/turning the TV off at the plug and see if that helps remove one incentive for him to get up.
Ours has been coming through to our room at 6ish. At which point he is wriggly/chatty right up until the alarm goes off when he suddenly has a nap... 🤣

I’d tell him he’s not allowed downstairs until he tells you. We have a stair gate at the top of the stairs that although my daughter can open- it’s loud enough that I’d wake and hear it before she got very far

I wonder if there’s a sleep regression at this stage - or maybe just big changes? With starting school full time.
We’ve noticed night waking along with early waking up in the last 2 weeks. His usually an early riser and we’ve always been up by 6:30 but it’s been between 5:30-5:45 this week.
No idea, just sending solidarity on the early wake ups ❤️
