Advice from professionals

How on earth are we supposed to follow advice given by professionals if they all have a different opinion and advice to give?🤷🏼‍♀️🤯

For a bit of context.. my little girl is 7 weeks old (she’s our second baby)

She’s not been gaining a lot of weight and last week we were told she has a cows milk protein allergy. Prior to this I’d been at the hospital with her 3 or 4 times due to her being extremely constipated from birth. We were told we were over feeding and to give her no more than 70ml every 3 hours or 50ml every 2.

My none existent health visitor came last week after the hospital spoke to them (I’d tried but nothing returned) and said to feed her the same according to her weight.

Today another health visitor came and said I’m not feeding her enough, I’m missing her hunger cues (by the time I came back from boiling the kettle she was falling asleep, I’m not winding her properly, I should still be waking her during the night ( I’d been told I hadn’t got to)
I need to make the bottles up before hand..I’m not holding her correctly.

I know it’s their job but I just cried and cried when she left… like I’m failing my newborn.. 😭😭

I'd say you don't want a health visitor and see a GP instead!!!!!
My baby had a really bad allergy and the hv kept brushing me off because he didn't have a rash. We had 7 weeks of CONSTANT screaming and he wouldn't go on his back so my husband and I were having to sit awake in shifts for him to sleep on our chest. Gp listened immediately and changed his milk. He was a different baby overnight

If baby isn't losing weight, I'd try and not worry too much. They go at their own pace. You're absolutely not failing 🖤

Omg don’t listen to a health visitor!! I’ve never had one so I don’t really know how this goes or what their qualifications are, but a mother always knows best, you can not overfeed a baby it’s impossible, they self regulate that’s literally their one job and that’s how they are. Also pretty hard to miss a hunger cue, if a baby is hungry, she won’t fall asleep, she will just cry and make hunger sounds/faces.
You are definitely not failing and don’t make anyone make you feel this way, you and baby are one, she literally lived in you for 9 months, so no health visitor or anyone for that matter would know better than you.

Wdy think of this for a toddler to learn word construction?

I'm open to anything else to start teaching him to read and write. He's 3!

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Naps

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Pumping advise

FTM to a 2 week old! I’m breastfeeding and then giving one formula bottle last in the evening before bed. I want to start expressing milk to give me some breathing room and also allow my partner to be more involved in feeding. I’m finding the idea of introducing pumping into my day quite overwhelming though. I don’t want to take milk away from my baby by pumping if he needs it during the day when being breastfeed.

Can anyone advise how I start pumping and when to do it? Thank you!

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.
