Once yes, once no. First time they broke it for me. Second time it broke before I went into labor

I was pushing without anyone knowing (fetal ejection reflex or whatever) and my water quite literally SHOT out of me. went all over my feet, the bed, the floor it might have even gotten on my husband.

I had to be induced because I had lost fluid sadly I didn’t even have my bag ready nothin was set up or built none of his clothes was washed yet but my water didn’t break on its own they had to break my water and the balloon was no joke it hurt the most ngl I didn’t really feel my contractions I got the epidural which was the best thing ever it wasn’t in my original plan but yeah and then i ended up having to get a C section because I wasn’t progressing and the baby heart rate keeps dropping due to the Pitocin it’s normal to be nervous especially it’s ur first time im also a first time mama and honestly if you stay calm and ur partner is calm and keeping you in good spirits you got this don’t stress and speak up for yourself!! I wish you safe delivery 🩷💐

mine never broke on its own. i wasn’t progressing so they gave me pitocin and then like 7ish hours later the doctor came back and broke my water and then baby was born like a minute after. me and baby were all good no complications. i hope everything works out the way you want it

I was induced they broke my water in the labour room at 11am and my daughter was born by emergency c section at 23:58pm that night, you will be nervous and scared but all that fear will suddenly disappear once you have your little one in your arms

Mine leaked slowly so they ruptured it when they had me start pushing

Mine broke at home when I was having some cramps. I felt a pang in my tummy and then a trickle and just knew it was my waters! From then onwards the tightenings/contractions got waaaaay worse and my waters continued to trickle out with every step I took! I put a pad on so the midwives could test it and see if it was definitely my waters when I got to the hospital! I was nervous because everyone said ‘you’ll just know when it’s your waters’ and I wasn’t sure I would, but for me it was unmistakable lol

Mine broke and labour failed to start in time, so I had to be induced. In the end, my waters went 6 days before baby come

Avatar

3 births no. They broke it. I take ages to dilate also but I spend 3/4 of the labour at home for as long as I can bear it at home then I go in and have their gas and they pop it then babys head emerges not long after

Avatar

Yup, broke in triage and puked at the same time lol. Right at 6-7cm

Avatar

Broke after 20+ hours of labor, which I think is the most common

Avatar

Mine didn’t break until I was fully dilated and pushing, doctor and nurses didn’t even know until about 10 mins of pushing and they were like “your water still hasn’t broken!” Told me to keep pushing and eventually it popped and I thought I had peed all over😭

Had them broken with my first, naturally when pushing with my second xx

I was induced!! They had to break my water for me. Once they broke it, I progressed quickly.

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.

Newborn stage

Is anyone tired of doing the same thing everyday and being on a 2-3 hour schedule? It’s the same everyday and I feel like I’m losing my mind. It’s making me depressed even if I get out once a day. When does it get better? I feel like I’m just waiting for the next stage where it’s not just sitting around all day.

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

I had a sweep this morning also.

Pregnancy after c section

What time scale did everyone get pregnant again after a c section?
I know the doc said they recommend eating at least a year to 18 months but it took 4 years to get pregnant the first time after being told we could not conceive naturally so not wanting to stop it happening knowing it could take a very long time again but also worried.

Hospital bag (UK)

What did everyone pack for their section? I'm staying in for 3 days due to mental health, not really sure what I'll need to bring, feeling very nervous. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
