Not sure! I asked my midwife about it and she didn’t really have an answer but I know a few friends who’ve gone into labour with their toes/nails done and I plan on having mine done before I give birth 😂

2nd time mum and paramedic here.
Its because they use a saturation probe on your finger to monitor oxygen levels but it wouldn't be used in a non complicated job anyway.
However, the probes they use are the same as on our ambulances, and we go to people with fake nails/nail varnish on the daily and we just adapt by turning the probe sideways. We've also used them on ears before 🤣 I dont see an issue. I wont be removing my builder gel nails.
And what would happen if you went to prem labour with no time to plan anyway? Xxx

If you’re planning on having a water birth I wouldn’t bother as all mine chipped off during my first birth 😂 that was just regular nail polish though x
