Painting and decorating

How do you all paint and decorate?

I hate using a roller as I always find it splatters, but a paint brush takes too long and I need to do the ceiling

I have my daughter's room to paint and I only have 2 days

I reverse engineer when it has to be done by, and put a timeline together so I can get organized and set alarms.

Get all the stuff I need ready the night before within reason. Or get up early and crack on. If you can remove furniture and masking tape up, and put down floor protection/sheets/plastic great if you can.

There isn't really another option than brush or rollers though. If get an extension poll for ceiling main painting rollers this makes ceiling easier. Get a good one so you can do think paint and apply pressure for an even finish. You'll still need a ladder and a few decent brushes of differing sizes for cutting in and the better you cut in the better the overall finish will be.

Remember you'll need multiple 2-3 coats of changing colours. 1-2 coats usually if keeping it the same/similar.

Make sure you leave enough time to dry between coats and mentally prepare for them to be long days!

I always use a roller, but you right about the splatter, so I sheet up everything. Plastic sheeting on the floor, cupboards, plug sockets. Move as much out of the room as you can. As Kelly said, get an early start as you will need 2 coats at least. Helps that my husbands in this industry so knows the quickest way to get it done and done well. X
