Hi, I am trying to potty train my little one. I tried so many times in the past and he was refusing doing it, crying etc and this put me off from doing it. this time i am more dedicated to do it. I let him free of nappies all day the last 2 days and use nappies at night time. I am with him now as on maternity leave but I find it so difficult. He cries a lot because he has accidents. I try to be calm but he wees everywhere. He then gets anxious and wants to spend all day at the toilet but im trying to explain that he needs to go there only when he needs to wee or poo. He did a poo at the toilet today so he is ready but he is so anxious and cries a lot. It's just too much having him not getting it and a newborn as I can't reassure him everytime as I am breastfeeding. Is it normal to cry a lot and resisting it. He scares everytime he has an accident which is everytime he wees. How do you get them to hold it until they reach the toilet. Please help me im loosing patience and I know its only the second day! Thank you. Please be kind i didnt do it earlier due to resistance from my boy and family problems.

Maybe he isnt ready, my little girl was over 2 and half years when she started i just kept her in knickers got her steps for the toilet and her potty downstairs. She love’s dinasours so if she sat and had a wee she would have dinasour stickers as a reward. I tried putting dolls on the potty and put orange juice in the potty and also potty training videos on youtube was good aswell. It will come naturally to them dont force it xx
