We’re expecting our first baby in May 2026 (IVF) and are currently considering which hospital to choose. It’s quite overwhelming since most of them have reviews below 4.0 😅 We’re thinking about Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea or Chelsea and Westminster. Any thoughts or recommendations?

I tend to find that the hospitals and their maternity wards are often quite different. Like a hospital might be badly rated based on a&e or other factors but have heard good things about their maternity ward. It’s hard to figure out sometimes though unless their maternity wards have separate ratings! If you live in a certain area and want to stay close I’d say just start asking people around the area?

Oh I just had a google and maternity wards get rated similar to schools, it’s called CQC rating ☺️

Thanks for your reply. Yes ive figured cqc rating as well, unfortunately i dont know anyone who gave birth in any of the hospitals mentioned.

I have chosen chelsea, I have ever since heard very good things about it for both C-section and vaginal. They also have a very nice birthing centre, I am 20 weeks and so far they have been great

We were torn between the same hospitals and in the end chose Chelsea & Westminster. Although both had the highest reviews from other mums I spoke to, we went with this one, mainly cause I had an emergency early in the pregnancy and they were incredible. We have had the best journey with them so far.
