IUD insertion

I want to get the copper iud. My OB wanted to schedule insertion for 12 weeks pp instead of at my 6 week appointment. She says she prefers to wait until everything is less soft/tender. I’d prefer to have it asap because I’m not trying to have another baby anytime soon. Has anyone gotten an iud inserted at 6 weeks or soon after? Is it doable?

I had my put in during my C-section but it moved so I have to have it removed and reinserted in a month. I have to be put under.

My doctor also recommended 12 weeks

My doctor recommended 10 weeks and then an ultrasound follow up 1 week later, to make sure it didnt move
My doctor strongly advised to use condoms between 6-10weeks because they would not insert it if there is a suspicion of pregnancy.

I got mine inserted at 6 weeks, my dr. Did it as soon as I simply asked. Although im getting checked soon cause ive been spotting for 3 weeks now and im worried it is improperly placed now.

i got mine at 2 weeks pp my obgyn recommended it because the cervix is still open and supposedly you don’t feel a thing, it only felt uncomfortable having my vagina opened with the clamp thingy but i felt nothing during the procedure & after i just felt the strings a bit until they wrapped themselves around the cervix. i’m 2 months pp & i feel great!
