Hey!
A very close friend is having a C-section today and I am grateful to have only had vaginal deliveries so I wanted to know what are some great gifts for those who have had C-sections? I know the recovery is much different!

DoorDash gift cards are always appreciated since it’s more difficult to move around but I found a rly good quality ice pack to be super helpful to put on my incision afterward. I’ve had two csections and both had wildly different recoveries so it varies person to person

Grabbers so she can pick things up off the floor

Depending on your budget, maybe a cleaning service to come in once at about 3-4 weeks pp (if she is the main cleaning person at her house) She’d still not be in great condition to clean the house. I know, I know, her partner can help but I’m the main cleaning person at my house and my husband went back to work only 2 weeks pp so housekeeping fell by the wayside and that was actually after my vaginal delivery.
Side note and not in a rude way - you should refer to your birth as vaginal instead of natural as many C-section mamas dislike that it basically means theirs is “unnatural”. Especially if she’s feeling any sadness about having a C-section. Obviously you’re a great friend so I’m not saying you would think that but just thought I’d let you know if case you’ve never given it any thought bc I hadn’t before I needed a C-section myself!

Agreed to the vaginal birth vs natural birth, Great advice! Definitely try to say vaginal birth instead. I’m one that would get offended lol.
I love my pack n play. I couldn’t sleep in my bed after the hospital because it sat too high and I couldn’t climb up into it, I even had to get a step stool at the end of my pregnancy. But so I slept on the couch for 3 weeks with the baby in the top layer of the pack n play like a bassinet right there beside me. I breast fed and loved my boppy as well.
I remember pants being hard too with the incision so some cute dress style pjs in her size or a warm robe for the cold weather would be thoughtful and well appreciated. Something for her specifically and not just the baby

DoorDash will be her best friend for the first 1-3 weeks. C sections are HARD especially after birth, it’s very painful to walk, get up, stand, bend, sneeze, etc. if uu can find a little shower chair that would help her sm in the shower right after birth bc it’s gonna hurt standing up especially the first week after. Ibuprofen/Tylenol, ice packs, DoorDash gift card, women’s diapers (this is gonna be a life saver, did it with my c section n vaginal birth. diapers are stretchy n won’t hurt her incision), after a c section sum women get VERY nauseous they have sum called “Preggie pop drops” it helps with nausea/vomitting i definitely recommend it they’re all natural.
