Just had my gestational diabetes test at 31 weeks pregnant and just need to let off a bit of steam. Any time I go to my local hospital they’re in such a rush to just see you and get you out I’ve always had bad experiences with blood draws there even when the waiting room has been empty.
The nurse taking my bloods, while lovely and accommodating because I had to take my 11 month old with me, absolutely butchered taking my bloods. I’ve never had it hurt so much during and after and have never bruised this bad. Has anyone else had the gestational diabetes test? How did it go for you and how soon did you get your results?

I’ve had the test and I come out like this every time I have my bloods taken. They always struggle to find a good vein sometimes it takes them 3/4 times.
I had mine done at 26 weeks. Didn’t have it in now 32 weeks and my baby is measuring really big so I’m booked in again on the 10th November ( same happened with my first baby)
If you get a phone call the day after you have it. If you don’t here anything you don’t have it 😂

Honestly there is nothing you can do. It’s so hard for the midwives when our veins are like this. They hate me going in as they know what’s going to happen 😂
No didn’t have it with my first after two test.
Was told throughout pregnancy my boy was going to be massive I’m talking 11+pound, even got a specialist from the ward to come down and speak to me. I was crying and everything. I gave birth to my boy on his due date and he wasn’t big at all he was 8pound.
They are now saying same about my little girl, I’m just not listening to them because they say it a lot to people and get it wrong soooooo many times. They just like to scare new mothers.
A lot of my friends have been told the same and the babies where born normal signs.
Pay no notice of them.
Ahh I see. They told me my first born would be big but not big enough for them to be concerned but was 6lbs and 3 weeks early so I’m not massively worried just a bit surprised 😂 thank you for sharing though!!
