Stanford Labor and Delivery feedback
Hello mommas,
I am pregnant with my first child and am due early May 2026. I wanted to see if anyone has delivered at Stanford so that I can hear about your experience. I am nervous about the reviews that I’ve seen on google and want to hear from people in the community. Thanks for your input!

I had two unmedicated births at Stanford in 2020 and 2023.
Birthing in a pandemic was crazy. For most of my birth I had to wear a mask!
However after it was good… with the exception of one night nurse who wasn’t very friendly.
As for my second birth I hired a doula which was a great advocate and helped me through the birth.
I had a great set of nurses, however would have loved to have more support at night.
The food was great, and my babies are healthy which was ultimately the goal.

I had my first baby in Standford. I name my daughter Oceanna after the nurse who was with me before active labor. She was on the night shift. Everyone was super sweet and it was not at all stressful for me. They only allowed two people in the birth room but they let a third person be in there with me. No questions asked. They were very attentive before and after birth.

20 week scan
I had my 20 week scan last Friday, everything was fine but she said that little girl had a big stomach and could potentially mean GD, the chart told her she was just under the worrying measurement to like get a early test for it but I’m still pure panicking about it that I’ve done something wrong to cause this. I have another scan on Thursday due to her being cheeky and not allowing them to get spine measurements so thinking I should ask for a second look? Anyone else been told this before and it been okay? Maybe she’s just a chunk lol x

Potty shot at 11-12 weeks
Hey mamas! I'll be 12 weeks at my ultrasound on Thursday and i'm wondering if it's possible to get a potty shot and see baby's gender at 11-12 weeks? I confirmed my son's gender via potty shot at 13 weeks for my 1st pregnancy but not sure if it's possible at 11-12 weeks? I got my sneak peak results, which say i'm having a girl but i want to confirm on NIPT & ultrasound before i start buying things and getting things ready. (Obviously i know NIPT will be most reliable, but the results take time so i'm just wanting to know if anyone has had baby's gender confirmed at 11-12 weeks via potty shot)

Induced?
I went into triage today after having reduced movements after my sweep yesterday. They have offered for me to be induced tomorrow morning. They said my waters are bulging and that i am already 4cm dilated. But not in active labour.
They said they were gonna break my waters and try the balloon. I had a previous c section before and was really hoping for a VBAC this time: does anyone have any words of wisdom? Am i making the right choice in being induced?

20 Week Scan
Had my 20 week Scan today. They couldn’t get a proper view of baby’s heart so asked us to return next week, everything else looked fine. And I also have a low lying placenta. Anyone else have this?

6 weeks post partum check up
I'm a first time mum and got my 6 week check next week, its just for me as my baby is having hers at 8 weeks when she has her jabs. What should I expect? What will they ask and what do they check?
