Dizziness

Hi all

Have already spoken to my OBGYN and got told to take antihistamines. However I was wondering if any of you lovely ladies had any issues with dizziness/vertigo? Particularly when lying down or getting up?
24 weeks and it's new of the last 2 weeks. Didn't have this problem with my last pregnancy and so it's all very new, but very challenging with a 3 year old to keep up with.

If I get up too fast from siting or bend down and get up too fast I get dizzy or the room spins a bit. I just take care to go slower from one spot to another (sitting/laying to walking). It doesn’t stop me chasing the kids usually. Def keep communicating with your Dr about it if the parameters are broader than changing height positions where the blood rushes to your head. You shouldn’t be dizzy from just resting somewhere.

I had a bunch of dizziness during both my pregnancies, but it was due to low blood pressure. I was prescribed salt tablets. I don’t know if that’s what you have too. When you’re laying down, close your eyes, you get over the episode faster. 30 seconds before you get up, move your legs and arms a bit. You get the blood flowing. Should prevent dizziness. I was also prescribed antihistamines, but I did not take them. My doctor told me I was too anxious and that made my blood pressure drop. That doesn’t make any sense! It’s the new drug they are giving to pregnant women to get them to shut up.

Agree with what the others have said, also have you had your iron checked? Could be anemia too.

You’ve probably looked at this already but if I haven’t eaten or drank enough I also get dizzy so just throwing this out there too 🙏

Hope you figure it out and get on top of it x
