Migraines 3rd trimester

I’ve been suffering with headaches/migraines since being pregnant. I’ve been to the doctors twice and the hospital (&midwife) they just suggested paracetamol which doesn’t cut it and the hospital prescribed codeine which I’m apprehensive to take at almost 30 weeks pregnant. The migraines are persistent and last over 24 hours has anyone taken sumatriptan during the third trimester and it’s been okay?

Do you suffer from migraines in general? I did and thankfully it wasn't too bad during pregnancy but I also did take magnesium glycinate throughout pregnancy 400mg dose.. if that's something you're okay with ask your doctor. Or try the cap.

This is what I found from another post. Hope it helps

Do you have any visual effects (aura) with the migraines or just pain? Triptans don’t work if taken during aura x

If you haven’t tried it it might be worth asking if aspirin would be more suitable

I took sumatriptan occasionally with my first and she is now 2. The consultant felt the benefits outweighed the risks for me as my migraines were so bad

I’ve also taken in this pregnancy but only 1st trimester so far. If I need to I’ll take in third
