Falling over
How are you all dealing with baby falling over when learning to be mobile? My son is pulling himself up on absolutely everything including my legs when I am stood near him, however, we have had it a couple of times when he gets excited and lets go and falls backwards, hes absolutely fine, I just worry that it will damage his head if he does it too many times, if I sit behind him he just tries to turn around to climb on me or moves further along the sofa 😅🙈

hahahah i’m a parent of a 4yo (as well as my april baby) and you just gotta let it happen, that’s how they learn and also there’s literally no way of stopping them from falling over when they learn to be mobile😆 i work in a nursery, and babies becoming mobile start having a lot more accidents because of being on the move, we tell parents to expect quite a few accident forms for a little while whilst their little ones are becoming more stabile on their feet, so yeah there’s not much you can do haha xxx
I laugh when my LO falls and say upsie daisy and just let it happen so he csn learn. All sharp corners are not near and of course not leaving him at a height alone where serious accidents can happen. I also did this with my now 3yo as didn't want them to cry immediately because of seeing my panic. Partner panics and normally goes oomph are you okay and she will burst out crying afterwards as a result, not because she was hurt.
Babies also don't know how to tense which is why they end up less injured over all. Like you say, most serious injuries are extreme cases.
Honestly the amount of times my daughter has smacked her head because of this.
We just laugh it off as don’t want to make a song and dance over it, unless she’s really hurt herself and cries, then we’ll give her a cuddle but otherwise to be honest she just crawls off and carries on x
