Has anyone's child been stuttering? my boys been speaking since he was just over one. now he can have a perfect conversation with people, however the past week he's started stuttering before any sentence he's about to say, even sentences he would say normally before. i've read that it's a phase some kids go through but i've never heard of it before and just wanted to see if anyone else's LO has had anything similar TIA

I’m not a speech and language therapist and I don’t want to give you any incorrect information.
All I can say is my LO also went through a stuttering phase where she “bounced” the first syllable of certain words. She’s had two episodes of the same speech behaviour and both lasted about three weeks.
We talked to her nursery about it and they said it was normal. We took advice and the best course of action is to make sure you give your full attention to the child when he is speaking, don’t rush him or finish his sentence/word for him. Never mimic the stutter! And make sure when you speak you speak the words clearly and in the way you would expect him to speak.
I hope this helps you. If you are concerned I would speak to a speech and language consultant or a GP/health visitor.

We had the same for about a month or so with our daughter and nursery commented on it too. We found though it was more of an issue if she was tired, put on the spot with a question or generally just very excited about something. She still does it occasionally now but nowhere near as much and nursery have said the same and did some little tests with her on it and said it was just developmental and no cause for concern.
Obviously as Chloe has said as well not an expert just what our experience was x

Our son is going through exactly the same! Very similar in terms of a good talker from a young age and can have a proper conversation. At the moment we are just keeping an eye on it and hoping it’s a phase he will grow out of

I noticed this too! Was quite worried as she has been so good with her speech up until then. I've notice the last few weeks she's definitely doing it less often and I did read it's normal too x
