Mamma’s with babies that have reflux or silent reflux, what are your best tips?
I’m doing the typical, feeding upright, burping often, keeping upright for 20 mins after a feed, using a dummy etc. I thought he was getting better but it seems to have gotten worse when he hit 8 weeks, he’s drinking less (volume not frequency), and seems to be in a lot more discomfort.

Have you thought about changing their milk?

Hmm reflux can be a sign of a cows milk protein allergy. This was the case for our little man xx

My little girl is now 7 months and had really bad reflux, sometimes even projectile vomiting. It wasn't CMPA, just fairly bad reflux, and none of the usual tips helped at all to be honest. Gaviscon made her spit up really thick and lansoprazole didn't make any difference either. We learned to just deal with it without medication, clean her and ourselves up when it happened, and it is now starting to improve with weaning. My little one wasn't in discomfort and was still happy playing when she was sick, still drank her normal feeds and was putting weight on well. I would recommend speaking to your health visitor if you are worried though!

My 10week baby boy has had it since he was 3 weeks. Its been such a pain!!!
First doc gave infant Gaviscon but that did nothing so not sure why we was even given that as the next doc said that was a waste of 5days. So they then gave us omeprazole which doesnt stop the reflux but stops the pain and discomfort. So maybe ask your gp if thats an option.
The whole keeping upright for 20mins doesnt work for my son he will still be sick up to an 1-2 hours after the feed then we are right back into another feed so the poor lad gets no rest.
We tried aptamil anti reflux but still did nothing.
Next im going to try goats milk kendamil as its easier for babies to digest. If still nothing then hoping it goes by 3months or might be the cow and goats milk and will need another milk option.
Hope that helps in some way. X

my Lo was like this and i changed him to cow and gate comfort and now he doesn’t have any of the symptoms and is such a n happy baby x

My son had bad reflux as a newborn and I did all the tips you mention in your post but I also used a slower teat flow when bottle feeding, it did improve when he turned 6 months and started solids.
I found the Infant Gaviscon and Reflux formula very thick and caused him discomfort and constipation so I just carried on using the regular one. It will get better

Hi I’m currently going through the same, just purchased Hipp (anti reflux) milk and bioGaia.
