brushing teeth
hey, so my 8 month old has his two bottom teeth and not too sure what to do about brushing. health visitor said to brush as soon as teeth come through but they’re still probably only 2-3cm tall. also he feeds to sleep so am i meant to feed him, then wake him to brush and then put back to sleep? or brush before milk and then first thing in the morning? really could use some advice as different places say different things! thanks :)

I'd brush them before you feed him, it's not fair waking him up. My daughter is 20 months now but when we first started brushing her teeth we used little silicone finger brushes that you can get on amazon x
Brush before you feed in that case, better for them to be brushed before a feed than not at all 😊 also if directly breastfeeding it doesn’t impact their teeth negatively so no need to worry about the brushing being before. If bottle feeding you would ideally brush after the bottle but I would start with just introducing teeth brushing into your daily routine
Brush morning and night before feed
Brush before. I sometimes let him chew on his toothbrush and he likes to do it himself. My daughter hated brushing her teeth as a baby but since he’s been playing with his he has no problem letting me do it.
I think the reason they say for babies not to sleep with a bottle is because milk contains sugars which soften the teeth..so it can cause the teeth to change position..but thats more like after they're 1
