need help!

hello ladies i hope u all had a great thanksgiving! my Baby girl is 17 months old and she hits all the time and pulls my hair the other day she threw a toy hard at another kid (she was 7) it hurt the kid pretty bad and i felt so bad and when we told my daughter that she hurt her and went over to her while she was crying and pulled her hair. i know my daughter doesn’t know any better but i don’t know what to do to help her stop hitting and pulling hair, any suggestions would be so appreciated!

I brought up aggression with my pediatrician and he said no response or a very calm redirect like hands are for hugging etc is better than making a big reaction over it. He also recommended consequences so your baby starts to associate the hitting with that. A natural consequence can be just putting her down for a bit or losing something she really likes for a bit. I personally notice that the calm redirect works much better for my son. Avoiding no when possible. Mine was slapping, pulling hair and scratching but has slowly decreased
