Weight loss help from doctors?

I have an appointment booked for Thursday to look into options for helping me loose weight as once my periods came back, my hormonal issues with pcos also showed up again.

From pregnancy to just before my cycles started 7 months pp, I lost 20kg without doing a whole lot (thanks to breastfeeding?). But now I am actively working out pretty much everyday (some days cardio, some days strength) and not only is it not going down, but it has gone up again so now it’s only 15kg I’ve lost 😞 and it’s been like it for months now.

My hip pains are getting worse and I’m not sure if it’s cause of the weight or just terrible joints, but it’s getting me down and I don’t know what the options are through a gp for help.

Even though you are working out you may still be in a calorie surplus do try to track your food and calculate what your calorie deficit is

If you are already working out a lil bit I would then talk to a personal trainer and not a Dr. They can sit there and work out a meal plan w you as well, talk diet options and diet changes, talk about your history etc and work around any meds or any diagnoses like your PCOS, and work out a plan w you because that’s their JOB they have helped hundreds of people lose weight and tone up, even women w PCOS…a Dr doesn’t really have any expertise in this area apart from prescribing a med and sending you on your way 💁🏻‍♀️

I have pcos as well. I understand about the pain of losing weight and my body hurting from it. Your definitely not alone. What type of pcos do you have? I have insulin resistant one which cause me to gain weight and get diabetes. Do you take any supplements or any of those weight loss shots? I was on metformin but it was too much for me. If you want you can always hit me up in the inbox if you want to chat in private about pcos and the challenges. Don't let this get you down.

I had to do a whole 180 on my diet this year due to other health issues, so while I don’t actively track, I am eating healthier than ever.

I’m hesitant to track calories as in the past I went overboard with it and it caused some mental health problems.

unfortunately I can’t afford to see a personal trainer regularly. I thought at least a doctor could maybe help with advice as well. I do have other medical stuff that I’m not sure is related to it too.

I have seen a one as a one time thing to help with my recovery, as after 3 surgeries on my abdomen made it super painful to do anything with it so I had to do baby steps with that.
