Genetic testing results
We finally got the results back from my boys genetic tests. We found out he has a gene defect that is closely related with autism, ADHD & GDD. He has been diagnosed with a developmental delay, and they said they can’t diagnose autism without the assessment. So happy we have answers, but still emotional. He also has small heart murmur that needs to be monitored yearly for the rest of his life💙

My 6 y/o boy also has a micro-chromosome deletion which can be related to ASD And ADHD. He is now diagnosed AuDHD and was diagnosed with a GDD but smashing goals at school. Soo hard but amazing to have answers!
Hey, my son has a similar chromosome deletion, also linked to autism. I too found it hard when he was first given the diagnosis as I didn't even know anything about it. But as just said my son is doing amazing too and its great to have answers😊🫶🏽
I have a feeling mine could have the same as he has the same diagnosis, how do I get the genetic testing done though?
Did you wait long for the genetics? I wad told it could take anywhere from 6wks till 12months - My son is 3.5yrs so far diagnosed with GDD in October then he had his Bloods end of October...
I can understand that overwhelming feeling 😌 it's nice also to have those answers!
We are told our next paediatrician apt will be when hes 5 ( In which case his bloods would be ready i suppose) x
