My baby is almost 10 months old and hasn’t said any words yet. He’s met all his age appropriate milestones and is constantly on the move! He babbles a lot, but still has no teeth, so I’m wondering if that might be a factor?

Is that a milestone a 10 month old is supposed to meet? I think that’s completely normal. Mine is babbling away but no actual words just yet.

Babies normally say their first words between 10-14 months so 10 months is very early on in that spectrum. Mine babbles mumma and gaga and baba but no actual words so I wouldn’t worry at all

My 10 month old say babbles that resemble words my god is called Minnie and he says “ihnie” which sounds like he’s calling her. He says cah in a way that’s sounds like car.
He also copies me when he really concentrates to say “cock a doodle do”.
However he has know concept of what these words mean or are they are fully just fun sounds he can make with his mouth. I wouldn’t worry it will come. I didn’t talk much until I was 2 and I’m a talker now I could make conversation with a brick wall.

My boy says a few words and my daughter was saying words at this age, she was actually speaking in sentences by 1 however, this isn’t all that normal. Most babies will mainly just babble. I’m sure at my daughter’s one year review they just looking to see if she was babbling, they didn’t look for any words yet. I talk to my kids all the time, have some since they were literally born, like lll explain what I’m doing even if I’m changing a nappy or something. My mum done it with me and I talked early so I’m convinced it played a part in my kids speech but I’m not actually sure if it has 😂 sounds like your baby is doing great and maybe just focusing on the physical rather than talking. For reference my son also has no teeth. My daughter didn’t get her first one until 14 months either x

wait what they’re supposed to be talking at 10m? my girl just babbles away and makes sounds like mama dada baba which the HV at our 9mo appointment said was good for her age but didnt mention talking at 10m?! 😭

My first son didn't say any words until after one year. But once he started he soon started picking it up and by two years his speech was ahead of where it 'should' be and wouldn't ever shut up 😅 he was an early walker so I think he just prioritized learning other skills. Boys generally are slower with speech than girls.
