Entertainment at birthday party...help!
My twins are having a birthday party next week (they will be 2). Most of the children coming are their age/younger so I've got toys to occupy them.
There will be 2 older children attending (8 and 6, both boys) but I've no idea what I should arrange to entertain them? There will be balloons and some footballs, so I'm sure they'll kick them about. I'll be bringing some colouring pages too, but is that enough? I don't want them to be bored or complain but we've already spent a lot of money on hall hire and food etc that I'm reluctant to go buying things that will only be used for a few hours. Has anyone been in this situation, and what did you do?

What is the entertainment for the 2 year olds? Are you having a bouncy castle or ball pool in the hall? Because the 6 and 8 year olds can use that as well if you are.
That sounds like a lot of expense when you could have just maybe gone to a soft play place instead if it was mainly going to be little ones. I personally would have waited until they were at least 4 or 5 to hire a hall. I'm not sure football and coloring is going to keep a 6 and 8 year old busy but good luck đź‘Ť
With that age gap I’m sure their parents will probably bring along a games console or something. Playing football round a bunch of 2 year olds sounds like a bad idea…I could be wrong. Could scatter balloons round the room to play with. Maybe some games like throwing a bean bag into a bucket or throwing hoops or skittles
Bouncy castle, ball pit, soft play blocks and little bikes seem to be the standard at kids parties we've been to. Now my eldest is 5 they're getting a bit bored and need something else like an entertainer or party games.
If the majority of kids there are 2 then focus the party around them. The older ones might be bored for some bits but you can't please everyone all the time and that's ok.
