My son is on the waiting list for an autism diagnosis through wood street Waltham Forest. We’ve found a great house in Romford (Havering council) and want to put an offer in. What would happen in regards to his referral?? Would I need to start all over again with the gp’s etc. I’m really worried as it took such a fight to get to the point that they listened.

I dont know what the process is but why would moving make a difference? If the referral is already in won’t they just call with the appointment when your name comes up?

Yes you would have to start from scratch , we moved 2yra ago from enfield to stanmore and my son was under all professionals from birth (ex prem at 24wks) and we've only JUST started getting speech and language after the transfer from the different areas etc .... It's such a hassle I know! Even now we kinda need to move but we've now just selected his primary and weve applied for ehcp and I've been told if we move now again we'd have to wait for everything again....There's never a right time to move is there.... I would write the pros and cons and how far down the list you are for a referral as we've been told they dont tend to assess untill 5yrs old my son is 3.5yrs and he's just been diagnosed with Global development delay.... I feel your pain 😢

Could you not just keep the same GP for a little while? X

Yeah it's such a lengthy wait isn't it in general for these things!
We've just sent our EHCP app off also , his nursery have been absolutely wonderful but even they said well be lucky to get it intime.... I'm like ffs anymore anxiety to add to my list....
