Anyone else using infant gaviscon. GP told me to mix with water and give via a syringe, chemist told me to add to her milk. How is everyone else doing it. X

Hey, my little girls been on it about 2 weeks now, I make the bottle and add the sachet into the bottle give it a good swirl/shake as it takes a while to dissolve x

It depends on whether she needs it after a feed or if I know she'll need some before I make it. The packet says mix with 115ml which always confuses me as my little girl drinks more than this so not sure I can put it in the normal amount?
I find it easier to follow the instructions for making it on it's own in a bottle with a little bit of cooled boiled water as then I can see she's had it all in case she doesn't finish her feed.

I add it to the milk. It Just makes it very thick so make sure the bottle teat can handle it. Can’t use his NUK bottles if the milk has gaviacon in it.

Add to the milk (breastmilk) x

She’s struggling to drink her milk because of the reflux so it’s a vicious cycle. She’s not finishing the bottle. Did anyone find it actually helped?

I add it to my babys feed, started with 1 sachet but now use 2 sachets as his feeds are bigger. It made a massive difference for us! Hopefully it will for you also, it’s horrible seeing your baby struggle with feeds due to reflux! We also changed to slower teats and started using the Phillips avent anti reflux bottles which helps lots also.

My baby was on gaviscon to help with reflux, it actually made her really constipated so stopped & now use a milk thickener (pepti 1 formula) on the back of the packet it tells you how many packets they need for their weight I believe x
