Cancel christmas

I don’t think you should cancel Christmas. Presents is not what Christmas is about anyway. You can still have a nice dinner maybe a special movie night with some hot cocoa. If anything maybe get something small from five below or similar store?

A two year old doesn’t care if a present comes from the dollar tree. They might even have something for an 11 year old. It is good opportunity to teach Christmas isn’t about gifts.

Let them enjoy Christmas as is while your husband is still able so they can have that memory if things go south. Small and intimate

Check Facebook marketplace. I’ve seen a lot of nice toys for free or cheap that families are putting up specifically for Christmas

You shouldn't just cancel it your 11 year old know about the holiday. And im sir knows about his dad situation? Did you try letting his school know? Or finding places you could get a few gifts at? 1 year after I got a transplant and my husband was let go from his job our kids school helped us and also connected us to a charity for Christmas.
What type of things is your step son into? My kids Are always excited for a new coloring book and crayons from "santa" and my oldest get a new drawing book and markers from 5 below. Xmas doesn't have to be grand just about spending time with love ones
