My baby will be turning one month this week and I’m planning to have his first bath. Can I please ask does anyone have any tips or guides on bathing a newborn? I’ve bought the aveeno baby bath wash and the nuby newborn bathtub.

I found that wrapping my little one in a muslin before putting her in the bath really helped her feel relaxed! She doesn’t like changes and often cries the whole way through so I was worried about giving her a bath, but wrapping her in a muslin seemed to do the trick! I read somewhere that they feel like they’re being held when the wet muslin is around them!

Same as above the muslin is great and keeps them nice and warm if you keep wetting (jug helpful or your peri bottle if you have one I’ve seen! 😂) Also found washing and drying head/face first before then putting baby fully in.
Make sure you have everything in arms reach first time was super nervous so having everything close made it a lot better. Good luck hope he likes it!

Have 2 towels ready, one to pop them on straight away once you take them out and then another to wrap them in so they're not in a damp towel too long. The muslin like everyone is saying too. Wash face and wipe eyes before you put them in the bath so you're not washing face with dirty water. I thought my little girl would hate a bath as she screams bloody murder when shes getting a nappy change but she loves it

Have everything you need close by. Towels , flannels, muslin, soap if youre going to use it. Use a thermometer if you have one.
Put muslin on baby in bath, keeps them warm. Enjoy their first bath! Took us over a month to bathe our little one, she enjoys it now

For getting baby out of bath when alone tuck the hooded bit of towel down your bra and the side
corners into your trouser waistband then lift baby out facing away from you and wrap them straight up! It’s my fave trick as she’ll SCREAM if we lift her out, lie onto a change mat and wrap her up. This way she’s held constantly and it’s super quick 😁
Also the wet muslin or flannel over body in bath as above, and just being organised before so you’re ready if they are grumpy when out. I always have a bottle ready as she can get real tired and cross after the effort of a bath haha!
Persevere… LO might not like it first few times then they seem to accept it and start enjoying XD x

Oh and the water can be hotter than you first think!

We use the angelcare seat and same as above wrap in a muslin. Towels on radiators beforehand xx
